Zakiya Smith-Dore

Zakiya Smith-Dore, MBA, CVP, currently serves as the Director of Guest Services at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts since November 2024. Prior to this role, Zakiya held the position of Assistant Director of Operations at San Diego Theatres from June 2021 to November 2024, where responsibilities included overseeing event operations and managing staff for the Historic Balboa Theatre and the San Diego Civic Theatre. Zakiya also represented Florida as Region V State Representative for the International Association of Venue Managers and managed events at the University of Florida Performing Arts Center. Previous experience includes serving as a Changeover Supervisor at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center and as an Administrative Assistant for the Multidisciplinary Diagnostic Training Program of Shands. Zakiya holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on International Business from the University of Florida, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the same institution.
