Richard Sparkes Ceng

Richard Sparkes MBA CEng has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Richard began their career as a Design Engineer at Electrolux, where they were responsible for designing various consumer products. Richard then moved to Husqvarna as a Project Engineer, where they worked from 2006 to 2013. Following that, Richard joined Thorn Lighting as a Programme Manager, overseeing the development and industrialization of new products.

In 2014, Richard became the Design and Development Manager at Kasai UK, leading a team of engineers and managers in the development of automotive interior systems. During their time at Kasai UK, they successfully grew the department from 3 to 20 members in just 3 years.

Since 2018, Richard has been with Dräger, initially as the Head of Engineering Excellence Product Qualification and later as the Head of Research and Development for the UK. In their current role, they are in charge of several engineering teams and is responsible for the design and delivery of new breathing systems for fire fighting and industrial applications.

Richard Sparkes MBA CEng obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle University in the years 1999-2003. Richard then pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from Durham University Business School in the years 2012-2013. In addition, they obtained certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from PMI in 2019, and as a Chartered engineer from the IMechE Automobile Division - Birmingham Centre in 2013.
