Jeff Barber has extensive experience in software engineering and architecture. Jeff started their career at Autodesk in 1988, developing operating systems and graphics drivers. Jeff then worked at Samna Corporation, where they developed GUI builder software. From 1990 to 1996, they worked at SecureWare, serving as a system architect and leading a successful security evaluation. At Hewlett Packard, their roles included developing security extensions for Windows NT and web user interfaces for administration. From 2000 to 2003, they worked at WebTone Technologies, where they designed web server plugins and developed CRM software. From 2003 to 2006, they worked at Internet Security Systems, specializing in network intrusion prevention systems. At IBM Internet Security Systems, they served as a lead software architect/engineer, working on IPS appliances and bare-metal embedded software systems. Jeff then joined Arbor Networks as a Principal Software Engineer, where they adapted core packet processing applications and implemented network accelerator configurations. Most recently, they have been working at NexDefense, Inc. as a Lead Software Architect. In 2018, they joined Dragos, Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer.
Jeff Barber earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky, completing their studies between 1978 and 1982.
