Dion Battersby

Dion Battersby is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Regional Economic Recovery Coordinator for Asia & Europe at the Danish Refugee Council since December 2023. With extensive experience as a consultant since May 2007, Dion has engaged in external evaluations, emergency preparedness, strategy development, capacity building, and technical assistance for various NGOs, including Oxfam GB and Action Against Hunger. Previous roles include Programme Specialist for Women's Economic Empowerment at UN Women, Country Director and Interim Head of Programmes at People in Need, and Programme Manager at Oxfam. Dion holds a Master of Science in International Disaster Management from The University of Manchester and has participated in several specialized summer schools focused on gender, climate change, and disaster risk reduction.
