Joel Coates

Joel Coates has a range of work experience in the field of information technology. Joel is currently employed at DreamBox Learning as an IT Manager - Service Desk since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a System Engineer III at the same company from April 2022 to August 2022. Before joining DreamBox Learning, Joel worked at Shamrock Foods Company as a Systems Engineering Technical Lead from May 2019 to April 2022, where they supervised a team of 6 engineers and was responsible for VMware 6.0 and 7.0. Joel also worked at Rise Against Hunger as a Systems Administrator from January 2018 to May 2019, where they designed and implemented the organization's first enterprise-level network and WAN failover. Before that, Joel worked at Solium as a Systems Administrator from February 2016 to January 2018, where they provided support for a heterogeneous network of over 500 users and managed IT operations in the U.S. Joel also gained experience at Axon as an IT Specialist from January 2014 to February 2016, responsible for IT support, server administration, and VMware 5.0 administration. Prior to that, Joel worked at Akron Summit Community Action as a Network Administrator II from October 2009 to November 2013, where they managed a network of 16 servers and over 1,000 devices. Joel also worked at The Community Builders, Inc. as a Network Administrator/ Computer Programs Coordinator from July 2007 to October 2009, where they managed computer centers and procurement of workstations and components.

Joel Coates holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Sociolinguistics from Ohio University.
