About the Role

The Software Engineer 2 will work on our CoreTrade and DriveWealth Institutional teams.  You’ll build an ultra-low latency, high throughput trading system and the tools to run and democratize investing globally!  You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies to re-engineer our mission-critical trading stack to be industrial-grade.  We aim to utilize our fintech prowess and our exchange memberships to deliver internet-scale trading applications to the floor of the exchanges.  

The proper candidate will have experience building applications and working in a highly-available and scalable environment. We seek someone who has exceptional attention to detail and values simplicity over complexity in code and communication. You will confidently express your opinions about what you create while providing constructive feedback on things you haven't.

What You'll Do

  • Work cross-functionally with teams ranging from trade desks, quants, product managers, risk management, and compliance
  • Lead the technical design and delivery of new Java projects using cutting-edge technology
  • Work with the Broker-Dealer Operations teams to support and enhance the trading system
  • Set goals with your team, and collaborate in setting organizational goals

What You'll Need

  • Java fundamentals, data structures, and best practices for modern software development
  • Exposure to low latency, high throughput message based systems
  • Experience with multithreading and concurrency in Java
  • Understanding of Java Garbage Collection
  • Must understand how to write effective unit and integration tests

Nice To Have, But Not Required

  • Experience in brokerage, trading, fintech, e-commerce
  • Knowledge of message brokers and/or messaging libraries such as JMS, Kafka, ActiveMQ, Aeron or similar
  • Experience with application containerization tools such as Docker or Podman
  • Experience with FIX messaging protocol
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services

Compensation
Compensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role. These are identified and determined throughout your interviewing experience.

: this role is expected to come into our office on a cadence set by the Hiring Manager/Team.

New York, NY (Hybrid) Pay Range
$160,000$175,000 USD
