Roadway Project Engineer at DRMP

Abby Rains has a diverse work experience in the engineering and construction field. In 2022, they worked as a Roadway Design Intern at DRMP, Inc., where they used Microstation SS10 and OpenRoads to assist in plans production and roadway design for projects with FDOT and CFX. At the University of Central Florida, Abby held the role of Lead COMPASS Mentor from February 2022 to present, after serving as a COMPASS Mentor from August 2020 to February 2022. Abby also has experience in leadership as the President of ASCE UCF from May 2022 to April 2023, and as a Fundraising Committee Member from August 2021 to May 2022. Additionally, Abby worked as a Construction Intern at Hubbard Construction Company from January 2022 to May 2022. In 2021, they gained engineering experience as an Engineering Intern at HANSON, WALTER AND ASSOCIATES, INC., where they utilized AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting utility, paving, grading, and drainage plans, as well as completing quantity assessments for cost estimates in Microsoft Excel. Abby also attended on-site meetings to resolve draining issues during construction.

Abby Rains attended the University of Central Florida from 2019 to 2023, where they pursued their degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation. In January 2022, they obtained the OSHA 10 Construction Training certification from the OSHA Safety Training Institute.
