We are looking for a Software engineer, well versed with Security engineering practices. You will report to the Director of Engineering and Director of Security. In your role as a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible to set standards for security across the engineering team and implement key security frameworks / libraries for the rest of the engineers to leverage. You will conduct trainings and orient the engineering team towards these industry best practices. You will be directly involved in assessing security gaps continuously and creating a security roadmap with product and engineering leadership. 

This Application Security Engineer role is ideal for someone with 8-10 years of experience, with extensive experience in rolling out secure coding practices and security engineering on cloud platforms. 

Work Arrangement 

  • Full-time position
  • Hybrid work model
  • Monday to Friday, 5-day work week (flexible work schedule)
  • Singapore Citizens and PRs only
  • Implement and manage security measures in cloud environments, including AWS and GCP.

  • Proficient in C# and Ruby on Rails to understand and secure the company's codebase.

  • Design and implement secure infrastructure on cloud platforms, focusing on network configurations and access controls.

  • Set up and manage Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) tools.

  • Interpret penetration test results and work with developers to implement corrective measures.

  • Drive security related changes across the engineering team by using JIRA and scrum processes

  • Security by design – create design patterns and shared libraries which can be used by engineers to implement secure design practices

  • Build out Security Software Development LifeCycle (SSDLC)

  • Collaborate with development teams to embed security into the development lifecycle.

  • Embrace a DevSecOps mindset to foster collaboration between development, operations, and security teams.

  • Evangelize and train engineers on security standards and internal security practices

Qualifications and Competencies 

  • Tertiary education or experience in relevant field.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, AWS Security specialist or OSCP is a must.
  • Expertise in security frameworks like CIS v8 and security coding practices like OWASP
  • Experience in implementing or maintaining CIS v8 controls.
  • Proven experience in a security engineering role, with expertise in cloud security and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of C# and Rudy on Rails.
  • Knowledge on Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with security of on-premise data centre setup.
  • Someone who is hands-on 90% of the time.
