John Clayton has extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Drug Enforcement Administration since August 2009. Prior to this role, John held various positions within the DEA, including Staff Coordinator, Group Supervisor, and Special Agent. John began a law enforcement career at the Marietta Police Department as a Police Officer from July 2000 to July 2009, and previously worked as a Deputy Sheriff with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office from June 1997 to July 2000. John’s military background includes service in the US Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class from June 1993 to May 1997. John earned an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Chattahoochee Technical College and completed further education at Kennesaw State University’s Michael J. Coles College of Business from 2006 to 2009.
