Lone Duus has extensive work experience in various roles within the aviation and shipping industry. Lone started their career at SAS Scandinavian Airlines in 1991, where they worked in crew management, handling resource calculations, long-term planning, short-term planning, and dispatching. Lone was also responsible for pilot logistics and training for the implementation of a new aircraft type.

In 2000, they joined Scandinavian Airlines as a project manager, overseeing projects until 2002. Lone then took on the role of crew analyst from 2003 to 2004 and went on maternity leave from November 2004 to February 2007.
