Michael Boetius

Michael Boetius has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Michael has held various roles in different companies during this time.

Michael started their career at Maersk Bulk in 1994, where they worked as a Shipbroker. Michael later served as a Chartering Manager and then as a General Manager. Michael held these positions until 2001.

From 2001 to 2004, Boetius worked at Maersk Logistics as both a Client Manager for Lego and as a General Manager.

In 2005, they joined the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group as a Managing Director and held this position until 2007.

Michael then moved to D/S Norden A/S, where they served as a General Manager from 2007 to 2010. Michael was later promoted to Vice President and held this position until 2014. From 2015 to 2018, Boetius worked as the Head of Dry-Cargo Strategy, Business Performance, and Business Development. Michael also had additional responsibilities for international offices and dry-cargo pools.

In 2015, Boetius became the Danish Representative on the Board of Directors for BIMCO, and they held this position until 2018.

In 2016, they joined Danske Rederier as a Member of the Business Committee.

Most recently, in 2018, Boetius became the Head of Period Tonnage & FFA Trading at DS NORDEN.

Michael Boetius has a diverse education history. In 1985 to 1987, they attended Helsingør Handelskole (HH) where they obtained their HH degree. From 1991 to 1993, they enrolled in A.P.Moller-Maersk and completed their MISE education, specializing in Maersk International Shipping Education (MISE). In 2004, they studied at the Copenhagen Business School and earned their HD (SCM) degree in Supply Chain Management. In 2007, Michael participated in a General Management Course (3 weeks) at IMD. Lastly, in 2012 to 2013, they completed an Executive MBA program at IMD, focusing on Business Administration and Management, General.
