Nneka Hector

Nneka Hector has a strong background in web development and technology. Nneka began their career in 1998 as a Software Engineer at Verizon, where they worked on business and residential systems projects. Nneka then transitioned into web development roles, working as a Web Developer at Democracy Data & Communications and later at Virilion. At Virilion, they developed award-winning websites using various content management systems and provided support for older sites. Nneka also worked as a Lead Developer at DRT Strategies, where they configured and wrote custom modules within the Drupal content management system. Nneka then moved on to Blackstone Technology Group, where they served as a Senior Technology Consultant, communicating with clients to plan and deploy software updates. Currently, Nneka is employed at DSFederal as the Director Of Web Development, where they manage web development resources and funding for federal agency projects. Nneka collaborates with leadership to execute the strategic plan for technology and infrastructure.

Nneka Hector completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Howard University, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Following that, they pursued a degree in Information Systems and obtained a Master of Information Systems (MIS) from Bowie State University, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their educational background, Nneka also obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in May 2021.
