Taylor Gowan has diverse work experience in the field of atmospheric sciences and meteorology. They worked at DTN as a Numerical Weather Prediction Specialist before transitioning to the role of Team Lead - Atmospheric Modeling and Engineering. Prior to that, Taylor was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Utah. They also worked as a Meteorologist Software Engineer at OpenSnow. At the University of Utah, Taylor held multiple positions including Graduate Research Assistant, Instructor for the Severe and Unusual Weather class, and Graduate Teaching Assistant for Synoptic Meteorology. They also gained experience as a Student Data Assistant at the Oklahoma Mesonet, where they prepared meteorological data sets and conducted research projects. Taylor's work experience began with a Marketing Internship at Hilti USA, where they worked on improving customer account information and performing quality assurance checks.

Taylor Gowan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. They then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology at the University of Utah from 2015 to 2017. Taylor later received a Doctor of Philosophy in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from the University of Utah in 2021.
