Eugene Barry

Eugene Barry has a vast range of experience in the airport and duty-free retail industry. EUGENE began their career at Aer Rianta International, where they held various business development and management positions across the Middle East and India. EUGENE then joined Dubai Duty Free as a Commercial Development Manager before moving on to Dufry, where they served as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East. After that, they worked with DFS Galleria as the Vice President of Operations. Currently, they are employed at Dubai Airports Corporation, where they hold the position of Executive Vice President of the Commercial Group. In this role, they are responsible for leading and developing airport business partnerships and activities, consumer products and services, and growing revenue streams at Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. Additionally, they serve as a Board Director at Emirates Airline Flight Catering and chairs the Dubai Airshow Projects Board for 2023.

Eugene Barry pursued their education at different institutions. From 1983 to 1989, they attended Scoil Mhuire Secondary School in Kanturk, County Cork, where they obtained a Leaving Certificate and NUI Matriculation. Then, in 1992, they enrolled at University College Cork for their MBS in Economics with a focus on Strategy & Competition. This program concluded in 1993. Moreover, Eugene Barry obtained an additional certification titled "Navigating Environmental Sustainability: A Guide for Leaders" from LinkedIn in January 2022.
