Syed Munawar

Syed Munawar's work experience includes roles at multiple banks. Syed started their career at Citibank as an MIS Manager from 1993 to 1995. Syed then worked at Société Générale as a Relationship Manager from 1995 to 1997. Munawar then joined Mashreqbank as an AVP - Credit Risk Review, leading credit risk quality and process reviews from 1997 to 2002. After that, Munawar moved to Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank as the Jt. Head Corporate Credit, overseeing a wholesale portfolio from 2004 to 2007. Currently, Munawar works at Dubai Islamic Bank as SVP - Head of Wholesale Credit Policy & Portfolio Risk Management.

Syed Munawar completed their MBA in Finance and Strategy from McGill University from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they pursued another MBA in Finance and Marketing from Lahore University of Management Sciences between 1990 and 1992. Syed obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Punjab from 1987 to 1990. Syed completed their high school education at Aitchison College from 1976 to 1987. Additionally, Munawar received training in various subjects related to Moody's Risk Analyst use, model development, and validation from RiskMatrix Trainings.
