Kenneth McDonagh

Head Of The School Of Law And Government at Dublin City University

Kenneth McDonagh has extensive work experience in various academic and research roles. Kenneth is currently the Head of the School of Law and Government at Dublin City University, where they have been an Associate Professor in International Relations since 2006. Kenneth also served as the Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences from 2019 to 2021. In addition, McDonagh was the Programme Chair for the BA in International Relations from 2010 to 2013.

Outside of their work at Dublin City University, McDonagh has held positions as the Editor for the Journal of Contemporary European Research since 2017 and as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Central European Policy Institute and a Visiting Lecturer at Comenius University in Bratislava from 2013 to 2014.

Before their academic career, McDonagh worked as a Stagaire at the Department of Foreign Affairs from January 2000 to July 2000 and as a Lecturer (Part-time) at Trinity College Dublin from October 2005 to October 2007.

Kenneth McDonagh received their BA in History and Politics from the University of Limerick in 2002. Kenneth then went on to obtain a PhD in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin, completing their degree in 2009.
