Akiner Tuzuner

Akiner Tuzuner, PhD has a solid background in quantitative analysis and optimization. Akiner began their career as a Teaching Assistant at Purdue University in 1998 and later became a Graduate Lecturer. In 2006, they joined the Purdue Energy Center - State Utility Forecasting Group as a Graduate Research Assistant. In 2011, they transitioned to academia and worked as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Kemerburgaz Universitesi. Akiner then moved into the industry and took on the role of Senior Optimization Analyst at Ascend Analytics in 2016. Currently, they are the Lead Quantitative Analyst at Duke Energy Corporation, a position they have held since 2018.

Akiner began their higher education journey in 1994 at Bilkent University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at Purdue University in 1998 and completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Economics in the span of two years. Akiner then continued their academic pursuits at Purdue University and obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (M.S.I.E.) in 2002. Akiner furthered their education at Purdue University and successfully completed their doctoral studies, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Industrial Engineering in 2010.
