Bill Currens

Bill Currens is a seasoned executive at Duke Energy Corporation, serving as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning since October 2002, where Bill leads the clean energy transition strategy for North and South Carolina. Currens has held multiple high-level positions within the company, including Senior Vice President of Finance Operations and Chief Accounting Officer, overseeing critical financial functions and compliance. As Vice President of Investor Relations, Currens enhanced relationships with investors and analysts and played a key role in the $5 billion acquisition of Piedmont Natural Gas. Currens began their career at KPMG LLP as a Senior Audit Manager before advancing through various roles at Duke Energy, establishing a strong foundation in finance and accounting. Currens earned a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance and Business Administration from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
