Mark Aysta

Managing Director, Enterprise Security at Duke Energy

Mark Aysta has a diverse work experience in the field of security and law enforcement. Mark started their career as a Police Officer at the San Diego Police Department in 1992 and worked there until 1997. Following that, they joined the FBI as a Special Agent, where they served for over 21 years. During their time with the FBI, they were responsible for investigating federal law violations and conducting national security investigations. Mark also served as the FBI's Private Sector Coordinator, managing the relationship between the FBI and Fortune 500 corporations in North Carolina. In 2018, Mark joined Duke Energy Corporation as the Managing Director of Enterprise Security, where they are accountable for the safety and security of the company's employees and assets, overseeing various programs and operations related to physical security, investigations, emergency management, and data security.

Mark Aysta earned their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Mark then pursued further education at National University, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Forensic Science and Technology from 1994 to 1996.
