David Gorman is a mechanical engineering student at Duke University Pratt School of Engineering, with an expected graduation date in May 2025. Currently serving as President of Duke University Motorsports since August 2021, David leads organization-wide efforts in design decisions, competition operations, logistics, and recruitment while fostering relationships with the university and alumni. David has held various roles within the team, including Vehicle Dynamics Lead and Advisor, where responsibility included leading a subsystem of over 15 engineers in developing critical components for an FSAE-spec racecar. Previous internships at Collins Aerospace and Hendrick Motorsports provided experience in manufacturing engineering and performance engineering, respectively. David's background also includes research experience as a Research Assistant in the Gall Lab and teaching STEM curriculums as an Engineering Instructor at The Works Museum. Additionally, David studied at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in fall 2023, furthering expertise in mechanical engineering.
