Kathy Wright

Kathy Wright has over 16 years of experience in event management and catering, currently serving as the Director of Special Events at Duke University since November 2007. In this role, Kathy directs a portfolio of high-profile events aimed at nurturing relationships with the university's generous donors and engaging alumni. Previously, as a Special Events Manager, Kathy managed various museum events and led initiatives to improve ticket sales and attendance. Prior work includes establishing a catering program at Duke University with local and sustainable food sourcing and launching a retail catering program at Whole Foods Market, where Kathy managed staffing and training. Kathy holds a BS in Zoology from Duke University, earned in 1987.
