Leanora Minai

Leanora Minai is an accomplished communication professional with extensive experience in higher education and journalism. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Communications at Duke University's Office of Communication Services since November 2004, Leanora has significantly enhanced the organization’s workforce narrative through strategic brand journalism, overseeing the award-winning Working@Duke employee communications portfolio. This includes a comprehensive multichannel program for 43,000 employees. Leanora has played a key role in cultivating a positive workplace culture recognized by Forbes and has led communication strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous roles at Duke include Director and Senior Communication Strategist, as well as serving as Public Relations Specialist for the Duke University Police Department. Leanora's journalism career began at The Times Leader and continued at the Tampa Bay Times, where awards were received for Deadline News Reporting. Education includes a Master of Arts from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University.
