Victoria E. Szabo is a Research Professor at Duke University, specializing in Art, Art History & Visual Studies and Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies since August 2006. With additional roles in Computational Media, Arts & Cultures, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Victoria teaches courses focused on Visual and Media Studies, Information Science, and Historical and Cultural Visualization. Previous positions at Duke include Associate and Assistant Research Professor, along with serving as Program Director for Information Science + Information Studies. Victoria has also contributed to the ACM SIGGRAPH as Chair of the Digital Arts Community from 2016 to 2022 and currently chairs the Arts Advisory Group. Prior academic experience includes a role as Academic Technology Manager at Stanford University and lecturer positions at San Francisco State University and Grinnell College. Victoria holds an MA and PhD in English from the University of Rochester, an MA in English from Indiana University Bloomington, and a BA in English from Williams College.
