Whitney McCoy, PhD, serves as a Research Scientist for Equity and Inclusion at Duke University since December 2021 while also holding the position of Lecturer at North Carolina State University since April 2016, teaching courses in Mixed Methods in Education and the Psychology of Adolescent Development. McCoy has extensive experience in education and research, previously working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in STEM Education at the University of Virginia and conducting significant research on Black girls' identity development in engineering education. Additional roles include Assistant Day Camp Coordinator at The Engineering Place, where responsibilities encompassed research and curriculum management, and various teaching positions across K-12 settings. McCoy holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from North Carolina State University, a Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Winston-Salem State University.
