Kelly has been Head at Bassett House since September 2021.
Graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in English & Philosophy and a PGCE specialising in English, Kelly first worked in an inner-city state school where she was soon accepted on the National College for Leadership’s Fast Track programme, taking on the role of SENCo. Kelly worked for many years at Thomas’s Kensington heading up key pastoral projects and driving English and History forward.
Aiming to blend the best of state and independent education, Kelly was the founding deputy head of an aspirational trust-run school alongside its headmistress – another Thomas’s alumnus. Together, they built the school’s vision and curricular foundations for excellence. Most recently, Kelly was deputy head and Designated Safeguarding Lead at Jacques Prévert, a French independent school in leafy Brook Green.
Kelly’s areas of professional expertise include safeguarding and compliance, change management, special educational needs, curriculum design and roll-out, and the early years. Kelly has completed the NPQH and believes there is no bigger privilege than enabling staff and pupils to experience the magic of childhood learning.
