Mirco Meniconi

Director of Computational Sciences at Dunad Therapeutics

Mirco Meniconi has a diverse work experience in the field of computational sciences and drug discovery. Mirco is currently the Director of Computational Sciences at Dunad Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at The Institute of Cancer Research as the Head of In Silico Medicinal Chemistry from 2018 to 2022. In this role, they led a team and utilized computational methods such as comp-chem, cheinformatics, data science, and machine learning to accelerate drug discovery. Mirco also contributed to scientific articles and patents in the field.

Before that, Mirco worked at Evotec for 11 years starting in 2007, where they served as a CADD scientist on multiple drug discovery programs. Mirco conducted virtual screens and developed a Machine-Learning ADME-Tox prediction suite. Mirco also gained experience in computer-aided drug design and bioinformatics during their time at GSK from 2005 to 2007, where they worked on drug discovery research in psychiatry and implemented biological fingerprints for target similarity and drug repurposing.

Mirco's work experience also includes a PhD student internship at Wyeth Research in 2004. Overall, they have a strong background in computational sciences and drug discovery, with expertise in areas such as oncology, non-covalent inhibitors, PROTACs, and molecular glues.

Mirco Meniconi earned their PhD - European doctorate in chemistry and technology of drugs from the Università degli Studi di Perugia. Mirco attended this university from 2001 to 2005.
