Philipp Wassibauer

Philipp Wassibauer has held various engineering and product roles in the tech industry since 2002. From 2002 to 2003, they were a self-employed web engineer/consultant. In 2003, they co-founded the Schmiede, a networking hub for people in the digital art/media space. In 2005, they co-founded Maptales, a location-based tracking and broadcasting platform, and was the CTO until 2013. In 2013, they joined GetYourGuide as the Marketing Technology Lead Engineer and helped the marketing team by mining keywords for both SEM & SEO efforts. From 2014 to 2018, they were the CPO and CTO at TravelBird, where they scaled up the engineering, design and product teams, oversaw the OKR process and alignment between the different operational departments, and was part of the executive team. From 2018 to 2022, they were the Director of Engineering at TripActions, where they were responsible for starting the first engineering site outside the US, managing 3 groups and 8 teams, and helping set up the career paths and competency matrix for ICs. Since 2022, they have been the Director of Engineering at Dune Analytics.

Philipp Wassibauer attended The George Washington University - School of Engineering & Applied Science from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Prior to that, they attended the American International School from 1995 to 1998.
