Jeanette W.

Jeanette W. currently serves as the General Manager of Arts Culture & Recreation at Dunedin City Council, overseeing cultural heritage, arts, libraries, and recreation services in Ōtepoti Dunedin. In addition, Jeanette has held acting and managerial roles focusing on Māori, community partnerships, and policy governance. With a strong academic background, Jeanette is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Otago and has participated in various leadership positions, including Co-Chair of the Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival and Chair of the Hone Tuwhare Charitable Trust. Jeanette’s education includes a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Otago and multiple degrees in Māori Studies, History, Museum Management, and TESOL from prestigious institutions.
