Elena Swecker

Elena Swecker has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. In 2017, they worked as a Molecular Biology Research Intern at Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation. In 2019, they interned as a Computational Biology R&D Intern at Sandia National Laboratories. Later in 2019, they joined Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science as a Teaching Assistant for the course 15-112 Fundamentals of Programming and Computer Science and eventually became an Associate Head Teaching Assistant for the same course from 2020 to 2021. In 2020, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Splunk. Elena further gained experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Duolingo in 2021. In 2021, they also took on the role of Head Teaching Assistant for the course 15-451 Algorithm Design and Analysis at Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer 1 at Duolingo starting from 2022.
