Giang-Chau Truong has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2014, they worked as a Lifeskill Intern with the Football Federation of Norway/Football For All in Vietnam. From 2015 to 2017, they served as an English Lecturer at Hue College of Industry. In 2016, they were a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant with The Fulbright Program. They then joined the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a Project Coordinator from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, at the same university, they worked as a Writing Consultant and an English Second Language Instructor from 2018 to 2020. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as an Interpreter at Language Services Hawaii. In 2021, they served as an ESL Lecturer at International Mid Pac College. Currently, they are working as a Lecturer and Head of English Division at Phu Xuan University. They have recently started a role as a Content Writer at Duolingo in May 2022.
Giang-Chau Truong began their education journey by earning a Bachelor's Degree in English Language with a major in Translation from Hue University of Foreign Languages in the years 2010 to 2014. Following this, they pursued further education and completed an Internship program in Language Interpretation and Translation at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce from 2013 to 2014. In 2016, they attended the University of Notre Dame for a Fulbright Pre-academic Orientation program. Continuing their academic pursuits, they then enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2016 and completed a Fulbright FLTA in American/United States Studies/Civilization from 2016 to 2017. Giang-Chau later returned to the University of Hawaii at Manoa and obtained a Master of Arts in Second Language Studies in the years 2018 to 2020. Additionally, they participated in a Training Fellowship at Honam University, focusing on training for coaches and youth leaders, starting in 2015.
