Lorena Kanzki has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Lorena started their career as an intern for The Women's Fund of Miami Dade, where they served on the Communications Committee. Lorena then worked as an Associate Producer and later as an Executive Producer for CitrusTV.
In 2016, Lorena became a Digital Communications Assistant at Syracuse University and also had a brief internship at Discovery Communications as a Digital Media Intern. Lorena then joined Scherley Busch Studios / Florida Women of Achievement as the Director of Post Production.
In 2019, Lorena founded and served as the Executive Director of 1st Gen Yes You Can, an organization focused on empowering first-generation college students. Lorena also worked as a Creative Director for Veggie Mijas, a community organization.
Starting in 2019, Lorena held multiple roles at Weber Shandwick, including NYU Scholar in Residence and Media Genius Fellow. In these roles, they conducted research on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) media initiatives, performed public sentiment analyses, and provided data-based recommendations for DEI communications. Lorena also managed projects related to DEI benchmarking services, assisted with brainstorming and producing multimedia content, and organized DEI-focused educational events for colleagues.
Lorena currently works as a Creative Producer at Duolingo, a language-learning platform.
Lorena Kanzki pursued their education, starting in 2015, at Syracuse University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Television, Radio, Film. Lorena also completed a dual major in Women's and Gender Studies during their time there. Lorena then went on to further their academic pursuits at New York University, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies, completing their studies in 2021.
