Olivia Medeiros-Sakimoto

Olivia Medeiros-Sakimoto has a diverse range of work experience. Olivia started their career as a Teacher's Aid at Iolani School in 2019, where they assisted with summer programs at the Lower School. In 2020, they worked as a Class Proctor at Iolani School, helping to coordinate classroom zooms and improve the learning environment during the pandemic. Olivia also gained experience as a Food Server at Le Crêpe Café and Village Vine Wine Bar + Bistro, as well as a Service Associate at Aritzia.

Olivia's work experience also includes an internship as a Communications Intern at the Office of the Hawaii Lt. Gov. Josh Green in 2020, where they gained experience in communication strategies. Olivia has also worked as a UX Designer and Social Media Strategist at Progressive Shopper, where they focused on user experience design and social media strategies.

Recently, Olivia has been working at Swarthmore College as a Digital Associate, Graphic Designer Intern, Office Assistant, and User Experience Intern. In these roles, they have been involved in website design and improving functionality on the college's public websites.

Olivia's most recent work experience is as a Product Designer Thrive Intern at Duolingo, which started in 2023. Overall, Olivia has gained a wide range of experience in various industries and has developed skills in teaching, design, customer service, and communication.

Olivia Medeiros-Sakimoto completed their high school education at Iolani School from 2007 to 2020, earning a High School Diploma. Olivia then pursued higher education at Swarthmore College from 2021 to 2025, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree. Olivia specialized in Ethics through Visual Rhetoric, with a special major in Philosophy and Film and Media Studies.
