Soumaya Dammak

Soumaya Dammak has a diverse work experience. Soumaya is currently working as a Data Scientist at Duolingo since August 2022. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the Tech Lead at International Highway from June 2020 to August 2022. Soumaya also worked as a Summer Data Analyst at Analysis Group from June 2021 to August 2021. Other roles they have held include Teaching Assistant at The Coding School from October 2020 to June 2021, Data Science for All Fellow at Correlation One from October 2020 to February 2021, and Karl E.Case Fellow in the Department of Economics at Wellesley College from June 2020 to July 2020. Soumaya has also worked as an Admission Tour Guide and a Muslim Chaplaincy Student Assistant at Wellesley College from September 2018 to March 2020 and February 2019 to June 2019, respectively. Furthermore, they have gained experience as a Research Intern at Athena Global Advisors from September 2019 to December 2019 and as a Partner Operations Intern at AdmitHub from June 2019 to July 2019.

Soumaya Dammak began their education at Pioneer High School Sfax from 2013 to 2016, where they focused on maths and physics. In 2014 to 2015, they participated in the Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program as an exchange student at Waynesboro Area Senior High School. After completing their high school education, they attended the African Leadership Academy from 2016 to 2018, where they pursued A-Levels in Economics, Math, and Entrepreneurial Leadership.

In 2018, Soumaya enrolled at Wellesley College, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Computer Science. Soumaya successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2022.

Alongside their formal education, Soumaya also gained additional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In October 2020, they obtained an honors certificate for DS4A / Empowerment 1.0 from Correlation One. Additionally, in May 2020, they obtained the CFA Investment Foundations Certificate from the CFA Institute.

During their educational journey, Soumaya also attended a CodePath program in 2020, completing an introductory course in Software Engineering.
