Megan McFarlane has a wide range of work experience in various industries. Megan started their career as a Summer Intern at Firmenich in 2018, where they conducted sensory panel testing and researched flavor lexicons. Megan then worked as a Student Ambassador at the University of York from 2017 to 2019, promoting the Environmental Science degree stream and answering questions from prospective students and parents.

In 2019, Megan joined ARCHELON as a Public Awareness Field Leader, responsible for raising awareness about the threats and protection of sea turtles, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and organizing events for the local community. Megan continued their involvement with ARCHELON in 2021 as a Public Awareness/Camp & Volunteer Coordinator, focusing on raising awareness among tourists, locals, and businesses about sea turtle conservation.

Megan also worked as a Global Protected Areas Programme Intern at IUCN in 2020, an Assistant Project Manager at Fair Earth Foundation from 2020 to 2021, and a Project Coordinator at Atlantic Whale and Dolphin Foundation in 2020. These roles involved tasks such as research, monitoring, building partnerships, and raising public awareness in the areas of cetacean population dynamics, plastic monitoring, and protected areas conservation.

In 2021, Megan then transitioned to a role as a Teaching Assistant at AK TEACHING LIMITED, where they provided support in a classroom setting. Megan later joined Amazon as a Project Manager in 2022, overseeing projects and ensuring their successful completion. Currently, Megan works as a Sustainability Analyst at dss+, where they are focused on analyzing sustainability practices and making recommendations for improvement.

Megan McFarlane completed their education at the University of York from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Master of Environment degree in Environmental Science. Prior to that, they attended the International School of Geneva from 2004 to 2015, obtaining an International Baccalaureate Diploma in the field of study known as IBDP. In addition to their academic accomplishments, Megan McFarlane obtained certification as a Snorkel Diver and Snorkel Instructor from the British Sub-Aqua Club in November 2022.
