Simon Casey

Simon Casey has over 30 years of work experience in risk management and safety consulting. Simon is currently a Senior Manager in the Operational Risk Management practice at dss+, specializing in Process Safety and Catastrophic Risk Management. In this role, Simon helps clients transform their operations and implement sustainable risk management processes.

Before joining dss+, Simon worked as an Independent Consultant for 8 years, serving as a Risk and Safety Consultant. Prior to that, they were a Manager of Risk Management at GHD for 9 years, where they led a team of consultants and managed projects related to Process Safety, Project Risk Management, and Enterprise-Wide Risk Management. Simon also developed critical control monitoring processes and safety cases for coal seam gas projects.

Simon's career started in the petroleum industry, where they worked for bp as a Petroleum/Production Engineer and later as a Student Reservoir Engineer. Simon gained experience in offshore operations, production chemistry, and laboratory work.

In the early years of their career, Simon worked as a Housing Officer at Ealing Council and as a Retail Assistant at John Menzies plc.

Simon Casey completed their education at Imperial College London from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering.
