Kate Curran

Kate Curran is an experienced elementary educator currently working with Durham Public Schools since July 2022, focusing on curriculum adaptation and fostering student growth. Previously, Kate served as an elementary teacher within Person County Schools from January 2018 to June 2022, achieving notable student achievement growth and utilizing technology to enhance instruction. Kate's early career included roles as an early childhood educator at Discovery Child Development Center, where curricula were designed with developmental appropriateness, and as a school director at The Growing Years, overseeing operations and staff while increasing enrollment. With a foundation in human development and elementary education from Boston College and a master's degree in child development from Wheelock College, Kate combines educational expertise with a commitment to student success and collaborative learning environments.
