James Bartlett

James Bartlett is a quantitative analyst at Durham University Finance Society since November 2022, with work experience in the energy and banking sectors, including positions at Valero Energy Corporation and Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking. At Valero, James gained insights into various departments and produced analytical reports on Eastern Distillate Export flows. Experiences at Societe Generale included shadowing a collateral trader and participating in the development of software for portfolio risk analysis, as well as producing a detailed report on the energy crisis presented by senior management. Previous work experience at bp involved learning about market dynamics and trading operations. James Bartlett is currently pursuing a degree in computer science at Durham University, having completed prior education at The Campion School.
