Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Dusty Robotics

Neil Abcouwer has a wealth of experience in robotics engineering. Neil began their career in 2007 as a Staff Assistant at Pennsylvania State University, where they created a database for the Cell and Molecular Biology program educational grant, located and interviewed over 50 estranged graduates to track career outcomes, and compiled a report including current contact information. In 2009, they became a Special Facilities Lifeguard at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, where they maintained a safe environment and performed multiple rescues, earning a commendation for excellence in rescue skills audit. In 2011, they interned at OnStar as part of the Vehicle Services team, providing prototyping and proof of concept for a Service-Oriented Architecture to unify business rules and web services, developing applications in BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) that interacted with existing Java classes and web services, and assisting in live vehicle testing and new product development. In 2012, they interned at Boeing as an Engineering Intern for In-Flight Entertainment. From 2014 to 2022, they worked at JPL (NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory) as a Robotics Systems Engineer. In 2022, they began working at both Dusty Robotics as a Senior Robotics Software Engineer and Iron Ox as a Senior Robotics Engineer.

Neil Abcouwer obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013. Neil then pursued a Master's Degree in Robotics from the same university, which they completed in 2014. In May 2013, they obtained an Engineer In Training (EIT) certification from NCEES.
