Gerard van den Eijkel

Gerard van den Eijkel is an accomplished professional in the field of optomechatronics, currently serving as the Technical Director for Optomechatronics at DEMCON Group since January 2017. In this role, Gerard provides technical and business guidance while also managing the Focal Optomechatronic Systems business unit, which specializes in the design and engineering of optomechatronic systems. Gerard has also founded and led multiple companies, including Dutch United Instruments and Focal Vision & Optics - DEMCON, contributing significantly to the fields of optical systems design and business development. Education includes an MBA from TSM Business School and a PhD in Pattern Recognition from Delft University of Technology. Additional experience encompasses roles as an R&D Management Consultant and an Assistant Professor, highlighting a strong background in innovation management and optical technologies.
