Job description

We are seeking a full time veterinarian to work remotely and provide professional services to patients via a telemedicine platform. The veterinarian’s services will focus on a variety of conditions such as behavioral health, and dermatology, and expanding into areas such as nutrition and other chronic conditions (eyes, ears, digestive, urinary).

We are looking for a veterinarian who is interested in becoming part of the healthcare solution by expanding access to care. Our team, our healthcare entity clients, and the veterinarians we work with are all extremely talented and motivated. You will have a lot of work to do in this position and will be expected to maintain a high standard of quality care for every patient, but we’ll give you the tools you need to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize patients' health and welfare, adhering to appropriate practice standards, including those related to telemedicine services.
  • Obtain informed consent, create accurate medical records, and adhere to all patient healthcare records laws and regulations.
  • Use a secure portal to evaluate each patient's relevant medical data, medical history, and treatment concerns, establishing a veterinarian-client-patient relationship.
  • Exercise professional medical judgment to determine the medical appropriateness of issuing prescriptions based on patient evaluation and client dialogue.
  • Perform all tasks on a desktop computer; travel is not required. Maintain consistent access to a phone for necessary client communications.
  • Work with medical director oversight, ensuring high standards of quality care, excellent grammar, attention to detail, and strong medical writing skills for patient-focused communications.

Requirements

  • Be a licensed veterinarian in California in good standing with the medical board
  • Telemedicine experience and proficiency with technology are a plus
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • At least 3 years of post-graduate work experience as a licensed veterinarian
  • Be comfortable discussing and treating behavioral health issues. Strictly follow security regulations to protect patients’ medical information. Be ethical, pleasant, responsive, and willing to collaborate with our team
  • Excel at communicating with patients and other veterinarians and enjoy doing so
  • Availability to take evening or weekend shifts on a regular basis
  • Patience and a love for animals
