Dirk van der Made currently serves as Projectmanager Biorefinery R&D at Duynie Group, having started in February 2024. Previously, Dirk completed a Master Internship at PeelPioneers, focusing on the valorisation of aqueous waste streams through fermentation, which involved conducting fermentation experiments, developing a business case for Single Cell Protein production, and performing a techno-economic assessment. Prior experience includes working as a Lab Technician in the Quality Control department at MSD/Organon, where Dirk gained extensive laboratory experience with HPLC and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices. Dirk also conducted a Bachelor Thesis at VITO on the chemical modification of lignin and completed a Bachelor Internship at MNEXT, which involved improving the photostability of natural dyes in biopolymers. Dirk holds a Master’s degree in Biobased Sciences from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a major in Biobased Technology from Avans University of Applied Sciences.
