Joe Nichols

Joe joined DWC in 2018 as our in-house actuary, bringing 30+ years of industry experience to the firm and its clients. His role as Director of Actuarial Services is to streamline defined benefit plan processes, and ensure accuracy and effective communication to our partners and clients.

Joe has worked with both national and regional actuarial firms providing actuarial consulting and administration to plans of all sizes and complexities.  He was first exposed to cash balance plans early in his career, and has helped to design and implement hundreds of new cash balance plans over the last decade. Joe is very involved in volunteering for the actuarial profession. He currently serves as Treasurer of the American Retirement Association and is a Past Chair of the Foundation. He also serves Chair of The Actuarial Foundation and is a Past President of both the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries.
