Rene Hartert

Rene Hartert, CFA, is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in direct lending and leveraged finance. Currently serving as the Head of Direct Lending Origination DACH at DWS Group since October 2022, Rene previously held the position of Managing Director and Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage for Germany and Nordics at Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, where responsibilities included offering a comprehensive suite of investment banking products to the Private Equity industry. Prior to that, Rene was a Director in Leveraged Finance at Commerzbank AG, focusing on financial sponsor-driven LBO transactions. With foundational roles as a Senior Analyst and Credit Analyst at Bank of Scotland Plc and Allied Irish Banks Plc respectively, along with internships at McKinsey & Company and Credit Suisse, Rene built a solid foundation in finance. Rene holds a Diploma in Business Administration from HAWK - University of Applied Science and Arts and completed a study semester abroad in Entrepreneurship at JIBS Jönköping International Business School.
