Dahlon Lyles has worked in the additive manufacturing industry for 8 years. In 2012, they began their career as a Research Assistant and Lab Manager at Purdue University. In 2014, they worked as an Engineer at 3rd Dimension Industrial 3D Printing, where they were responsible for creating and executing DOEs for refining parameters of 3D systems ProX200 and ProX300 direct metal printer. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as an Upstream Additive Manufacturing Engineer II at Smith & Nephew, where they were responsible for consulting executives, product development engineers, and quality engineers on current and potential applications of different additive technologies. In 2017, they joined Oerlikon as an Additive Manufacturing Application Engineer, where they were responsible for establishing a new business unit with a focus on creating end-to-end solutions for production. Currently, Lyles works as an Application Engineer at Dyndrite Corporation, where they are a subject matter expert on metal additive manufacturing and works with engineering and product development to define software features for the next generation of additive manufacturing.

Dahlon Lyles attended Prairie View A&M University from 2009 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering. Dahlon then attended Purdue University from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering Technology. In 2013, Lyles obtained an FCC Amateur Radio Technician License from the Federal Communications Commission.
