Role Summary:

The Vice President, Global Market Access is a strategic leader who defines the strategy for and manages all engagement, communications and programs related to Dyne’s global market access efforts. This individual is a member of the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) Leadership Team where they contribute to overarching GMA objectives and plans.  This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing global and regional neuromuscular and disease-specific market access initiatives aligned with Dyne’s drug development objectives. . This position oversees the development, implementation, ongoing assessment and adaptation of all product and market strategies to secure and maintain optimal market access for marketed products in all therapeutic areas. The Market Access department is comprised of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Channel Management and Contract Operations, Market Access Marketing and Payer Field Team, and Patient and Reimbursement Services and Field Teams

This role collaborates cross-functionally with key cross-functional partners including other GMA functions, Clinical Development/Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Communications/IR, Legal, Market Access and Commercial, and Research. This role also works to cultivate and advance strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders across Dyne’s programs, including national, regional, and global health and reimbursement authorities, policy stakeholders, and medical organizations to advance the unmet needs of patients, drive evidence generation for payers,  support disease awareness amongst payers, and develop payer-specific disease education to support project, program, and trial related educational and awareness activities.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Define the overarching market access strategic plan in alignment with corporate and GMA strategies and goals
  • Ensure systematic inclusion of market access needs and HTA body requirements both at a corporate and therapeutic area evidence generation level
  • Develop programs, communications, and collateral to educate key stakeholders (e.g., market access authorities, HTA bodies) to raise awareness of, and educate on Dyne programs
  • Determine and set market access strategies for all in-line and pipeline brands, including reimbursement, value proposition and messaging, payer management, channel management and distribution, patient support services and field reimbursement support; Manage the ongoing continuous reassessments and adaptation of such strategies
  • Monitor and manage all associated operations including contract operations, government price reporting, trade customer operations, and outsourced hub and pharmacy services operations
  • Set direction and monitor associated field teams including Payer Team, Channel Team, Field Access and Reimbursement Teams. Engage directly when helpful with specific customers to improve and help maintain productive relations. Lead or oversee negotiations with Market Access business partners where appropriate.
  • Lead development of Payer and Provider Product Value Propositions for Market Access customers and associated marketing strategies and tactics and collaterals
  • Lead Medical Affairs/HEOR on overall Product Value demonstration strategies and evidence generation focused on payers
  • Partner with Brand teams and Commercial Operations and others in Company to meet joint market and brand objectives
  • Partner with Program Teams to develop product and TA lifecycle plans fit for the global market access needs
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Advocacy and Government Affairs strategy as it pertains to the global market access environments
  • Set, secure, monitor, and manage all associated budgets
  • Deliver above in a positive and engaging work environment. Help develop personnel, teams and processes to support Dyne core values, and culture
  • Serve as the global subject matter expert on industry-wide market access approaches and common practices
  • Represent Dyne market access on key senior-level governance forums, working groups, and teams
  • Understand and abide by global compliance regulations 
  • Travel globally to various patient advocacy related conferences to represent Dyne 

 

Education and Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 15 or more years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience, including leadership roles in domains such as HEOR, channel management, product value proposition and market access marketing, payer management, hub and specialty pharmacy and patient support services and global market access
  • Expert understanding of global market access authorities and HTA bodies, and preferably with experience in neuromuscular disorders, to bring the market access perspective into Dyne decision making
  • Good understanding of all associated relevant legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Prior experience and success in strategic roles (including complex, multi-year initiatives), operations roles, and customer-facing roles preferred
  • Experience in high value products and specialty care drugs required; neuromuscular disease experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with vendor selection and management
  • Experience with effective and efficient project and budget management
  • Experience working on global cross-functional teams across development phases from discovery through launch
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • History of successfully working in complex cross-functional team environments with numerous/diverse stakeholders, including alliance partners, across the globe
  • Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence without authority at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. on a regular basis, approximately 35-40% of time
