Edzer Huitema

Dr. Edzer Huitema joined E Ink in 2019 and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer.

Edzer previously worked at Apple as a senior manager for new display technologies. He also served as a technical chief in start-up companies Polyera and Polymer Vision, and is a pioneer in the development of flexible and foldable displays and products. In 2000, Edzer worked at Philips Research in the Netherlands, focusing on the research of organic electronics and flexible display technology.

During Edzer's professional career, he acquired extensive expertise in display technologies, including electrophoretic, OLED and µLED display technologies, organic electronics, and oxide transistors (Oxide Transistors). Edzer has published the results of his working research in numerous papers and books in Nature, Nature Materials, Advanced Materials, etc., and has 66 granted US patents. Edzer obtained a master's degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry with honors.
