Panagiotis Petrakis

Panagiotis Petrakis is a highly experienced economist with a diverse range of roles spanning over several decades. Panagiotis is currently a Professor Emeritus of Economics at the Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, where they have held several positions including Professor of Economics and President of the Department of Economics. Panagiotis has also served as a member of various committees and research bodies within the university. Outside of academia, Petrakis has worked as a Special Advisor for the Ministry of the Finance and the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Technology. Panagiotis has also held positions in the Hellenic Parliament and the National Bank of Greece. Additionally, they have served as the Scientific Director of the Distance Learning Supplementary Programs at E Learning Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Overall, they have a strong background in both academic and practical economics.

Panagiotis Petrakis holds a PhD in Economics from the Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, which was completed prior to 1982. Before that, they obtained a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Stirling, which they completed before 1979. Panagiotis also earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon before 1975.
