Chris Kirkland

Chris Kirkland has extensive work experience in various roles related to investment, economic development, and event coordination. Chris is currently working as the Head of City Investment for the City of Wolverhampton Council, where they lead the investment programme and prospectus to drive the city's regeneration agenda and economic growth. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Investment Manager at Staffordshire County Council, promoting the region for investment and supporting businesses in their growth and job creation. Chris also has experience coordinating regional events, having worked as the West Midlands 2012 Coordinator for Arts Council England West Midlands and the Staffordshire Coordinator for the 2012 Games. Earlier in their career, they held roles in sports development, customer services, and youth and community work. Chris Kirkland attended Nether Stowe High School from 1987 to 1994. Chris subsequently obtained a BSc degree in Sports Science from Liverpool John Moore's University, completing their studies from 1994 to 1997. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2016 and obtained the CIM Chartered Marketer MCIM Member certification from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in February 2019.
