Susan’s professional career spans 20+ years in higher education policy, with special emphasis on the politics of decision-making and the importance of strategy and organizational planning. It’s no surprise, then, she joined EAB in its earliest days alongside some of the nation's leading colleges and universities to lay the foundation for EAB’s Strategic Advisory Services division.
Today, she partners with presidents, executive teams, and Boards as part of EAB’s Strategic Partner Program to identify institutional priorities, set strategy, and lead organizational change. Susan also plays a leading role in the annual Presidential Listening Tour, interviewing chief executives about trends facing higher education.
Susan’s passion for education was first sparked by her student term on a university system governing board, offering a unique perspective of the shared governance process, the delicate Board-Administration relationship, and the politics of policy making–each of which still informs her work with today’s higher education leaders.
Susan’s education includes a degree in finance and human resource management from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master’s degree in public policy from The University of Texas at Austin. She returned to Maryland, where her doctoral coursework and scholarship in Education Policy and Leadership focused specifically on higher education policy, leadership and finance.
