M. Scott Hakel

M. Scott Hakel, CPL, MJEL has over 20 years of work experience in the energy industry. M. Scott is currently serving as the Vice President, Land at EAG Business Holdings, Incorporated since January 2020. Prior to this role, they worked as the Vice President - Land at Corterra Energy, LLC from September 2018 to January 2020. From July 2014 to August 2018, they were the Director of Land at ETX Energy, LLC. Before that, they served as the Land Team Lead - Mississippi Lime and New Ventures at WPX Energy from August 2010 to June 2014. M. Scott started their career as a Landman at Sheridan Production Company in June 2008 and later worked as a Landman at Questar from February 2005 to April 2008. M. Scott also had earlier roles as a Land Clerk at Frontier Land and Orion Exploration from August 2003 to February 2005, and as a Land Administration Intern at Encana in 2004. M. Scott began their career in the energy industry as an Accounting Clerk at Newfield Exploration from June 2000 to August 2003.

M. Scott Hakel, CPL, MJEL obtained a Master of Jurisprudence in Energy Law from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business, Pre-Law from Oklahoma State University in 2006. In 2003, they completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Accounting from Tulsa Community College. In 2004, they briefly studied Energy Management at the University of Oklahoma - Price College of Business.
